Office Girl ... Reproduction Skirts

a fun poppy flower skirt ... luckily my boss loves it ... vintage blazer: found // top: h&m // skirt: hell bunny // vintage belt: came with a skirt // shoes: deichmann // 60s bag: flea market ...

a black skirt for looking more professional one in a while ... knit blazer: old h&m // knit top: thrifted mexx // skirt: rock steady clothing // belt: came with a skirt // shoes: deichman // bag: primark // vintage brooch: flea market ...

to full fill my office wardrobe i got myself a couple of reproduction skirts from top vintage online shop ... some of you might know, that i'm not the biggest fan of repro fashion for several reasons. so i was very excited to try out these skirts ...

the print of the 'red poppy' skirt from hell bunny is absolutely adorable and fits perfectly in my work wardrobe ... but i still struggle with the quality of the little stiff and easily wrinkling cotton. i hope it gets better after washing (and probably ironing for an hour). but hell bunny skirts are fairly priced, so i can go with a not perfect fabric. oh, size 's' is quite big around the waist!
... my boss totally loved this skirt. so, thumbs up.

the simple black skirt from rock steady turned into one of my fav pieces for work. it fits perfectly, the material is comfortable and nice, it doesn't wrinkle ... and it's perfect to wear with and without a petticoat. i have lots of tops and blouses to combine with. so you will see this piece quite often during the work week ... for sure once in a while with a little 40s od 50s twist.
if i could get this one in blue i would buy it right away.
double thumbs up.

have a great end of the week - and an even better weekend!

Getrödelt, Gefunden, Gefreut ... Sailor, Ahoi!

welcome to this months getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut ... actually i supposed, i wouldn't join ggg this time - but a few days ago, i took a big suitcase filled with vintage pieces (don't get nervous, not super old vintage ... more younger 'fashionable' vintage) to my fav vintage shop around the corner. while the owner went through my stuff, i stumbled over this vintage sailor suit ... when i held this piece in my hands i felt kind of numb from stunned happiness ...
this suit is made from creme coloured silk and black crepe ... the ex-owner said, this piece is from her mum and she wore it in the 50s. the buttons are made from sea shells .... but the zipper must be replaced, it's plastic ... to me it seems to be a little older then 50s. the top looks more like 40s or even 30s? ... but for being that old i don't find enough signs of hand sewing ... this piece is pretty confusing to me when it comes to dating. any ideas out there?
i love this piece and i'm pretty happy that the pants fit my wide hips and tiny waist so well.

... it was very fair priced. the ex-owner was more intrested to let this piece go to someone who will love it. i will.

let's check out what the others thrift shoppers have found in march: getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut.

News From The Past // 1878 ...1879 ... 1888

what is a lady wearing in berlin ... sateen and silk

actress sentenced to 3 months of prison, because of frivolous stage costumes

the newest beach wear ...
a couple of weeks ago i found the book 'kinder, wie die zeit vergeht' on ebay. it's a collection of the 'newest news from the past 100 years' from the berlin newspaper 'berliner zeitung-bz'. the book is from 1977, it's as old as i am. yes, old.
reading the articles is so fun, that i decided to share once in a while some news from the past with you guys ... as this newspaper is written in german it's not that exciting for the non-german-speaking readers. nonetheless i hope you enjoy the pictures.
today i have some news from the late 19th century for you ...

Office Girl ... Black And White

this is what i wore on my second day to work ... blazer: old h&m // 50s day dress: flea market // belt: primark // tights: aldi // two tone flats: super old deichmann // 40s-50s purse: ebay // little bow brooch: flea market ...

these black and white flats are one of my all time favourite shoes ... sadly the faux leather started to fall apart last year. so i just try to wear them once on a while. i saw a quite similar pair at b.a.i.t. ... but you can't find this label in europe and the company is located in the states ... the shipping and custom costs are too expensive to get shoes you probably don't fit in ... sniff ...
do you have any experiences with shoes from b.a.i.t.?

Inspiration From The Past // Sears 1952 // Springy Dresses

pictures taken from 'everyday fashion from the fifties - as pictured in sears catalogs'
it's march and i feel the spring coming ... so i decided to share some beautiful spring inspired dresses from the sears cataloge of 1952. isn't the dress and coat ensemble to die for? the plaid nylon dress i would buy right away ... and i would love to try on the black and white dotted dress with the cute collar and the fun pockets on the skirt ... and the lace dress ...
which dress would you love to order from sears, if you would live in 1952?

Little Cowboy Boot

... cardi: primark // 50s-60s cotton dress: ebay // vintage belt: thrifted // hush puppies kitten heels: vintage and thrifted // vintage bag: thrifted // vintage plastic brooch: flea market // bamboo bangles: thrifted in the us ...

i won this dress recently on ebay ... actually i wanted to wear it with my cowboy boots right away - but i changed into my blue kitten heels, because the boots looked horrible with a coat. so i have to wait for a little warmer weather ... in the end i remembered the tiny western boot brooch i found some weeks ago on a flea market ... so i was able to wear one boot with this look.
