Carry Me Home

... the past few weeks, especially the days after i returned back home from the US, i was more than lucky to find some amazing vintage bags ... top to bottom: black and white synthetic wicker bag from the early 60s, made in hong kong: flea market // floral tapestry bag: found at the antique mall in puyallap washington state // 50s bag with bamboo handle: vintage yard sale // early 50s wicker bag with metal handle: thrift store around the corner // midnight blue late 50s-early 60s bag: thrifted ... same shop as the wicker bag. ... for all bags together i spent almost 28€.

actually i was a little sad that i didn't got my hands on one of the amazing 40s-50s-early 60s wicker bags i saw in the states. everytime i fell in love with a bag i was so shocked about the high range that i didn't got them (and every time i decided, i not to care about the money but wanting the bag, i wasn't able to go back to the shop ... sniff, goodbye cute 50s strawberry bag) ... the most affordable priced bag next to the tapestry bag was 24 dollars. so i did quite good with my mostly german vintage finds.

  3. Wow, what a collection.
I would be happy if I found only one of those, but so many in such a short time and for such a low price, incredible. I especially love the wicker bag with the metal handle, so elegant!

  6. Such timelessly lovely bags! It sounds like you have some great prices in Germany compared to many places in North America. Ooooh, I suspect I know the kind of strawberry bag you saw. Was it black tapestry (with red berries)? I've been coveting one of those for years.

  9. Stuff at actual vintage stores in the US is always ridiculously expensive. You can usually find good vintage stuff at good prices at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores. Keep that in mind for your next visit :)

    These are really cool bags!

  10. @ mabel: thanks for advise - but i did spend most of my shopping time in goodwills or salvation army (they still have stores in oregon)or st. vincent de pauls. i just found a few 'super true' vintage pieces there. there are to many pickers out there - but i'm a picker too. ;)
