this is what i wore on past sunday for checking out two flea markets in town ... vintage square dance top: thrifted, pony hütchen shop // pants: thrifted and altered // belt: istanbul // flats: flea market // 50s-60s basket: thrifted // fruit brooch: style me betty // fakelite bangle: flea market ...
i'm wearing pants ... capri pants! i love them!!! actually these gingham capri pants looked quite 'old lady'-like, when i found them in a thrift store for 2€ ... but i saw their potential right away and took a chance ... reproductions and original capri pants never fit me right. most of them are too wide on the waist or too tight on the hips and legs ... so i stick normally to skirts. but once in a while i really want to wear pants - and 50s capri pants i always wanted to add to my wardrobe. so, if nothing fits right, you have to create your own ...
so i took these granny-ish pants to the tailor around the corner and told her my plan to turn them into 50s style capri pants by taking in the legs and waist... she really liked the idea and did a fantastic job. sadly i didn't took a picture of them before they got altered ...
all in all i spend 22€ on them. i'm super happy with the result ...
Yay for restyling those capris! Your whole outfit looks amazing. I will definitely be looking old lady capris in a different way now.

YES! Love this look on you :) I love Capri pants but can't find any to fit either! I have the same problems - too big in waist then too snug on hips or too big in the legs... *sigh* but a great job in spotting the potential of these!!

Great outfit, you look lovely!
AntwortenLöschenIt's a great job! they are gorgeous capri's and I love your blouse, love it! x x x
AntwortenLöschenOh I love this look on you! The capri pants turned out great - I wish you would have taken a photo when you bought them, so we could see how they looked originally! I agree that it is hard to find the perfect pair of capris, so this is definitely a good way of getting the perfect fit.
AntwortenLöschenI also LOVE your blouse - the swoopy neckline comes down so low, and the rest of it is so fitted, this is really one of the nicest examples of this type of top that I have seen!
Great outfit! Love the blouse and the fruit detail you added!
AntwortenLöschenI know the "old lady" feel you are talking about when shopping! Sometimes it just takes putting something on to find out if it will look good or not.

Oh, those capris are darling! They turned out splendidly. I have absolutely encountered old lady capris before that would be so cute if the cut/fit was just a little different. Unfortunately, I'm always too lazy to enlist the assistance of my tailor. :P

These are sensational and I agree, they fit you awesomely!!! I run into the same issues with capri pants (and pants and shorts in general) and know what an amazing thing it is to finally hit upon a pair that fits you well. I love the sweet, summery way you've styled yours here. So pretty and fun!
