Video Killed The Radiostar

This is what I wore to an artsy event in a silent movie theater ... top: probably Primark // vintage sailor pants: Veist Kleidergeschichten, Berlin // 50s plastic wicker purse: flea market // shoes Deichmann // 50s nylon scarf: gift, came with an ebay buy!

... this is what I wore the following morning to visti the flea market ... vintage square dance dress: flea market // belt: flea market //  cowboy boots: flea market // vintage purse: flea market // bakelite bracelets: eBay ...

I am so far behind with posting outfits here on the blog ... well, but I'm still posting.
Don't you have the feeling that Instagram is slowly killing the blogworld? I find more and more blogs vanishing or abandoned ... but I'm happy to find these people later on Instagram ...
How do you feel about reading and writing blogs? Do you prefer Instagram?

  1. Lovely outfits as always!!!!
I feel the same about Instagram....
in fact, it's more easy and faster than to post on a blog and I think that more people look at Instagram than at blogs. You get easily hundred likes but hardly get 10 comments on a blog post that you need many time to write....
I think that Instagram will probably slowly kill the blog world....

  3. I think I agree with Laurence, but I still like writing my blog. I feel like Instagram is that immediate pop, but blogging actually lets you express a full thought.
I love that second outfit! I don't know if it's true or not, but it seems so different for you, even a little bit "country". You look really cute.

  4. OH MY GAWDS! You look amazing! I love those sailor pants - so dramatic!!!

I don't instagram because I really don't like it. I like the time it takes for me to read a blog ... and the time it takes to write a blog. There's something to be said about connecting over the blogosphere. Instagram and Twitter remind me of walking through NYC, catching someone's eye, and then moving on without ever having a conversation. Too much information, not enough depth.

  5. I love the sailor pants outfit!

I like both. I agree with Jessica that you can express yourself better in a blog, if you have something to say. I like reading blogs and looking at instagram, but I admit it is easier to comment on instagram, especially from my phone. And I feel less silly just saying a short comment too.

  6. Love the purse in the second outfit! I've only been on Instagram a year and whilst I do like it, I plan to keep blogging and reading blogs! :)

  7. Fantastic outfits both! Your western wear inspired look is so delightfully fun.

I've had that gnawing feeling regarding social media vs blogging for about three years now and think that it is, at least in part, trampling the time honoured (relatively speaking) art of blogging for sure. I don't see them as foes honestly, but rather two parts of the same equation, one of which works better for some folks, the second for others, and plenty enjoy and spend time sharing on both (that's where I currently land myself).

  10. Two fabulous outfits, those trousers look better each time I see them.
I don't have a smartphone so Instagram is pointless. Its blogging for the lazy. I prefer words first and pictures later. xxx

  12. I think that Instagram is killing off all the good blogs. It is faster, more convenient, and has a wider user base. That said, I don't really like Instagram. I feel as though I only get the top few sparkly posts or photos, and then I get distracted by something else. I enjoy reading blogs because they are more thoughtful, more curated, and more personal. They feature more content by the authors. I have been feeling annoyed with Instagram more and more because I feel like every single post is someone trying to sell me something, or some viral marketing campaign. Instagram is a great platform to sell stuff on, but I do tire of it.
