A Walk ...

out for a walk .... i dared to wear my new 1940s coat ... and it's soooo comfortable ... woolen coat: thrifted // 40s cotton dress: thrifted // vintage belt: flea market // boots: deichmann // 40s bag: ebay // late 50s crocheted gloves // hat: flea market // earrings: flea market // husband: usa ...

on sunday we went to the outskirts of berlin to pick up a 50s jacket i had won on ebay. on the way back we visited the historical town britz to see the famous housing development 'hufeisensiedlung', which was built in the late 1920s. it's inscribed in the UNESCO world heritage list as 'berlin modernism housing estates'. this is not just a place for architecture enthusiasts, it's a beautiful and calm place to visit, when you're in berlin and you're tired of being in the loud and stressful city.

Hat Heaven - Joenga Choi

some weeks ago, i found this beautiful stall at the saturday market at maybachufer in neukoelln, berlin. the label is called joenga choi after the lady creating these amazing hats. i'm totally in love with all these vintage inspired pieces ...  all the hats are handmade! if you want a special colour or add ideas, you can get your custom made piece. my fav ones are both pink pointy hats, the round sailor hats and the stewardess hat - to be true, no fav, i want them all.
at this point in my life, i'm not able to afford a hat out of her collections.  ... sniff, so i just went away with a headbow (here).

Everyday Vintage

the last few days i spent the most time in bed because of a bad cold ... this is what i wore my first day out ... for a little walk in the neighborhood and having veggie burgers at tiki heart ... wearing 90s leopard jacked: thrifted // 60s cardi: flea market // vintage skirt: thrifted, somewhere in oregon, usa // vimtage snake leather belt: from my mum // vintage hush puppies kitten heels: flea market // 50s-60s purse: ebay ... have you noticed rat fink behind me in the window?

this is what i wore the day before i got sick ... look at my pale face and my sour facial expression ... woolen blazer: old h&m (the best piece h&m ever made!) // 60s dress: flea market and shortened, years ago // singlet: karstadt // belt: from my mum // tights: h&m // boots: deichmann // 60s bag: flea market // 50s hat: ebay ... the man took all the pictures, just for credits.

let's call these two looks: simply everyday vintage ...

Getrödelt, Gefunden , Gefreut ... Early 40s Coat

getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut is back! so let's see what i have found in early september ... eeeeeeek! a woolen coat from the early, early 40s! i got it for under 50€ in a second hand store here in berlin ... this fantastic piece is in a great condition ... just one of the buttons is missing (one you actually don't need), another one's woolen cover is a little damaged. the mink fur is in a awesome condition, no moth holes in the fabric ... it has a beautiful silky lining ... i have never found something beautiful and old before. it's quite hard to find things like this here in germany, because most of the clothes from this times got burned in the bombings of WWII or they got worn to pieces. this coat is handmade and has no label, so i really don't know if this piece is german made or someone got it from the states or anywhere else.
i'm so amazed ... but as i know myself, i probably won't dare to wear this treasure. i should open a museum soon.
check out beswingtes allerlei to see all the other fantastic new old finds at getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut.

What To Do With A Patio Skirt When Summer Is Over?

i was looking for a patio/squaw (whatever) skirt for such a long time. to me this is the total summer piece. finally i found one when summer was almost over ... it never made it out till yesterday ... surprisingly i really liked it being paired with black ... top: new yorker // 50s patio skirt: made in berlin vintage store // belt: my mum's // vintage flats: thrifted in the states // 60s patent leather bag: flea market // hat: flea market // rose pendant: flea market ...

Time For Boots

on tuesday it was the first time i had to wear boots. i wanted to get some vegetables from the turkish market around the corner but it was chilly and totally rainy. ... sweater: thrifted zara, altered // belt: from my mum // 50s skirt: simply vintage, portland, us // boots: deichmann // vintage bag: thrifted // hat: flea market //  60s gloves: thrifted ... i know, these boots ruin the chic look of this outfit but i wasn't able to go out with other shoes ...
on wednesday night i wore almost the same look - a little bit more dolled up - with my  little blue tilt hat and my cotton 50s top ... and some dark blue kitten heels ... and my new blue bag. sadly i never take pictures of my 'going out' looks.

Twiggy

look at our new room mate! little twiggy moved in one week ago, after we found her on the flea market. the french seller told me, she got her from the old hairdresser of her grandparents. they live in a little town in the middle of france. this head was sitting in the shop since she can remember ...
... some of my readers asked to see more of my wardrobe ... here is a little sneak peak. luckily i got some more of my clothes out of storage last week end when we went south ... it's still just a little bit of my huge collection. i never made my everyday life with just a few shoes  and bags ... it's a challenge!

Socks

it's early fall, it's time for socks ... finally i found some cute ones -with a little lace on top- at h&m ... 70s does 40s blouse: thrifted in the states // joop! pants: thrifted // shoes: deichmann // 60s patent leather bag: flowmarkt nowkoelln // 50s hat: ebay ...

wow, i felt quite surprised when i looked at these pictures. this blouse makes my boobies look huge - maybe  i should change the name of this post from 'socks' into 'b... ? well, no.

the next 4 days you won't hear from me probably. the man and i are going south to get some more clothes (warm clothes) from our storage room and visiting just a few beloved people. i will be back next week.
have a nice weekend!

Too Dolled Up?

i bouhgt this cute little 70s does 50s sundress some weeks ago and i wore it a lot since ... here are two of the outfits ... summery version:  huge spotted dress: flea market // leather belt: old h&m // shoes: deichmann // 50s necklace: thrifted in the states // 40s bag: ebay  // bracelet: flea market ... fall-ish outfit: cardi: thrifted // my beloved 'worn-to-dust' flats: primark // straw bag: flea market

i bought this dress on katermarket here in berlin from a friend. she told me that she really loves this dress but everytime she was planning to wear it, she felt like being too dolled up. i really was surprised when i heard her words, because i got this dress as an everyday piece. it's fun how different people feel about the same clothes ...

Silhouettes

a quite uncommon silhouette on me - luckily i found a wiggle skirt that fits me ... zara sweater: altered and thrifted // vintage belt: flea market // vintage skirt: thrifted (2,50€ but i had to do some fixing) // tights with seem: h&m // flats: vagabond // 50s gloves: flea market // 50s hat: ebay // 60s bag: flea market ...

... another new but -as usual- flared skirt ... 50s blouse: vintage yard sale // 50s skirt: made in berlin, vintage store // shoes: vagabond // vintage aigner belt: thrifted // 50s bag: vintage yard sale // bracelets: flea market ... the last time i wore this look, i wore heels. this looks much better because of the length of the skirt, but i had to do a lot of walking the past days so i stuck to my super comfy new flats.
