Vintage Barbie: New Dress

hello from vintage barbie ... she's got a new shirtwaist dress and warming cardi ... and she's so proud to present you her new original vintage barbie boots. they just arrived (these boots are made in japan-1970 and i suppose they could be quite collectable, barbie is from 2008 and just repro). i have to say, i like vintage barbie so much that i try to get her a vintage (repro) friend ... then they can share the dresses. oooops, ok, barbie doesn't want to share her dresses, she just told me.

this happens, when work eats up all my private time and i don't find the energy to dress up myself.  ... it's barbie time.

Checkered Weekend

friday's outfit ... vintage cardi: thrifted // early 60s dress: ebay // vintage petticoat: ebay // lace up boots: ebay // vintage bag: flea market ... i'm so bored about those boots ... but i'm still not able to wear my huge collection of awesome winter shoes ... once in a while the foot still hurts so bad and i'm still afraid to make it worse by wearing even small heels. hopefully you're not as bored as i am.

today i post pictures taken from a german fashion magazine the bf found me on one of his flea market strolls he took without me, while i was at work.  ... all the patterns are still in there ... does someone out there wants to sew me this gorgeous sailor suit - please?

even if you don't want to sew me anything shown in the pictures above - i hope you enjoy another little trip into europeans fashionable past.

Faux Pas

the bf found a photo album on a local flea market some weeks ago ... i suppose this was the album of this beautiful dark haired teenie lady above showing pictures from her friends and family ... the pictures are mostly shot between 1939 and 1941 (her portait was shot in 1936). She lifed in a town close to the city i live in  in the south of germany. her life seemed to be so peaceful, she propably traveled a lot (photos from skiing, vienna, ...) ... and she was dressed quite fancy some times ... look at her amazing spotted animal print coat and her gorgeous hats. WW2 doesn't seem to affect her life this time ... i'd wish i could find out more about her and her life. ... isn't she lovely?
