Inspiration FromThe Past // 1940

when i was packing for the move  a few months ago i found five more sewing magazines the man had found for me on a flea market. i really had forgotten about their existence. before i sat them in a box to put them into storage i took picture to be able to share them with you. aren't all these outfits just adorably beautiful?! ... the perfect inspiration for the last days of summer and the first days of fall ...

Ohhhh my god. I'm having a hard time articulating words that aren't "AAHHH" or just, obscenities. The black outfits in the 2nd & 3rd to last photos = supreme dream ensembles. Again: AHHHH!

Thanks for sharing!

Honestly, I can't pick just one dress. Each and everyone I would wear. It's such a perfect time period. Thank you for sharing these remarkable fashions!

That are some of the most amazing cold weather dresses I have seen so far. Such beauties!

Inspiration is right -- these illustrations are breathtaking. I love how perfectly a lady's figure is highlighted when it comes to garments from this era. The peplums of recent popularity have NOTHING on the way they were utilized in the 1940's. :)
