Hot Hot Heat

finally the summer heat arrived in germany, as you never know for how long, i decided to bike arround the city and to check out some forgotton vintage shops ... this is what i wore ... vintage square dance blouse: pony hütchen shop //  50s patio skirt: made in berlin // belt: from istanbul // sandals: jumex // 50s straw/leather purse: ebay // rose pendant, bracelet and earrings: flea markets ...

i talked to my granny on the phone right before i started working on the post. she is doing ok - but she feels weak and she doesn't drink enough water. probably this is the biggest problem right now ... not the cancer. ... maybe i will visit her in a few weeks.

Office Girl ... Went To A Vintage Market

this is what i wore to work past friday (i was the only one working!) ... the little shrug i took off when i went to a (quite shitty) vintage fair on potsdamer platz right after work ... shrug: no name // top: walmart, usa // 50s novelty print skirt: made in berlin store // belt: mango // shoes: clarks // 50s straw purse: flea market // 50s necklace: thrifted in the usa ... it doesn't happens very often, but this time i left the flea market empty handed ....

Office Girl ... A Lot Of Black & White

 ... my fav blouse ... turned into my fav office blouse ... vintage blouse: thrifted in the usa // skirt: steady clothing // belt: from my mum // flats: primark // wicker bag: flea market ...  this outfit i wear quite often to work paired with different shoes and bags ... look, it's the first time i wore a roll in my hair to work ... yeah.

thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my last outfit post. i'd wish i could dress up like this every day ...the work week is half over so i just have two boring and mostly black & white coloured office looks for you ... but that's life: boring.

Sunday Sailor

Getrödelt, Gefunden, Gefreut ... Super Vintage May

welcome to this months GGG ... known as 'getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut'. in may i missed a lot of flea markets but i was pretty lucky on the couple i went to ... i never got my hands on so many true vintage pieces ...

one of my favourite finds is the 50s straw bag with the beautiful black decoration and the bamboo handle. what a classic vintage piece. sadly it spent some time in a stinky attic. i put it in a plastic bag with coffee pads to take the smell away. hopefully it works. 

the round bag with the beautiful 50s novelty print is actually a box for a sun lamp. it still has it's guaranty in it - but no lamp! i wanna use it as a hat box.

i'm super happy that i found some more plastic souvenir pins ... and i had to buy the fur pins. they are in a pretty rough condition and i don't know, if i ever want to wear them - but i got both  for 2,50€ (+ the riding brooch).

a super special find to me is the 50s weenie dog family made from morano glass. aren't they adorable?! they don't live here anymore. the weenies moved to the states. we gifted them to my man's mum, who is a huge enthusiast for dachshunds. now her three real dackel (dachshund) have some tiny new friends.

Inspirations From The Past // June 1957

the print of my new 50s skirt reminds me on the dress that is on the magazine cover ... it took me a while to find the pictures, i shot from this magazine almost one year ago, on my laptop. i didn' t posted them last year, because these summery dresses need to be seen in summer time ... and june starts in a couple of days ... i hope you get inspired by some fashion from june 1957. enjoy!

Capri Girl

this is what i wore on past sunday for checking out two flea markets in town ... vintage square dance top: thrifted, pony hütchen shop // pants: thrifted and altered // belt: istanbul // flats: flea market // 50s-60s basket: thrifted // fruit brooch: style me betty // fakelite bangle: flea market ...

i'm wearing pants ... capri pants! i love them!!! actually these gingham capri pants looked quite 'old lady'-like, when i found them in a thrift store for 2€ ... but i saw their potential right away and took a chance ... reproductions and original capri pants never fit me right. most of them are too wide on the waist or too tight on the hips and legs ... so i stick normally to skirts. but once in a while i really want to wear pants - and 50s capri pants i always wanted to add to my wardrobe. so, if nothing fits right, you have to create your own  ...

so i took these granny-ish pants to the tailor around the corner and told her my plan to turn them into 50s style capri pants by taking in the legs and waist... she really liked the idea and did a fantastic job. sadly i didn't took a picture of them before they got altered ...

all in all i spend 22€ on them. i'm super happy with the result ...

i wore this outfit before but the skirt and top go so well together, that i can't wear the combination just once ... (here). probably i will wear it again.

Red Gingham

i found a awesome vintage basket purse in a little shop while strolling through the streets of my neighbourhood and had a super fun chat with the shop owner ... hopefully i will find this lady's booth on tomorrow's flea market to see all the other treasures she sells. this month i'm a little low on money, so i actually shouldn't buy anything else but i love to walk over a flea market in the early morning sun ... it's a bit challenging but life is full with challenges.

Yellow Is The New Happy

actually i never liked yellow too much on me. don't you think, that yellow is not made for blondes? a bright yellow looks so wonderful on brunettes and redheads ... but -hey- this summer yellow makes me super happy!

i love checkeres and plaid ... some of you might be bored of my little red-green-black plait skirt, which is one of my everyday favourites ... but the brown and green checkered dress is brand new to me. this dress is one more reason to find the perfect dark brown leather shoes ... 

tomorrow i have a long work day at the fair for my company ... so, i got to go ... and, my granny goes back to hospital tomorrow. this week will be the surgery.
