i bought this maritime inspired 70s-80s blouse on a flea market here in berlin last summer. for some strange reasons i thought, it would be too big for me. so it ended up in my flea market bag again ... as i went trough the bags of clothes for the big sell on past sunday i discovered it again ... now i'm totally in love with it.

this summer i'm a maniac for yellow  ... i wear my three yellow tops day in day out ... for some reason they go with everything recently ... my favourite vintage shop has a yellow 50s skirt with blue and red flowers on in stock - hopefully it's waiting for me 'till i made some money on the flea market next sunday ...

The Only Clowns At This Circus ...

on wednesday the gorgeous g. from in the ruins of berlin and i met to visit the big vintage circus. this is vintage fair that is connected to the bread & butter fair and berlin fashion week events.  

i was so excited to go to a real vintage fair here in germany ... i hurried home after work to get my hair done and to jump in my precious 40s dress, that i actually just wear to special occasions ... isn't a rare vintage fair special enough?!

the past days the weather already had been quite crazy ... hot and super humid. when i took the outfit shots my make up was running down my face ... then pouring rain came down ... luckily the husband took us girls by car to the fair ground. 

... i suppose, we both were pretty suprised not to find a bunch of vintage people in between the fashion and hipster crowd ... and we kind of got scared as the security guy at the door told us that the vintage fair was already removed the day before ... but he wasn't sure about this. so we went in, on the hunt for the vintage circus.

what we found was an empty outdoor fashion play ground with almost no people and an abandoned circus tent with no vintage vendors, no vintage people - just us: two little vintage girls in the drip-drop rain.
frustration! ... we decided to have a couple of drinks somewhere else ...
in the end we had a great evening without talking much about vintage and fashion.

ps.: today i got some information about the abandoned vintage fair from one of the vendors ... on tuesday there was a thunderstorm over berlin - actually they were expecting a tornado - so the police (!!!!) cleared out the outdoor area of the fashion fair and some vendors had to leave their stalls with all their vintage treasures behind ... from the inside they were able to see their items getting ruined by the the wind and rain. what a sad and shocking story!

sorry, for the lack of posts but i was pretty busy with having friends over, staying in our tiny flat. actually i wanted to post about the vintage fair i went to with the wonderful lady from in the ruins of berlin but .... i tell you next time.

construction workers have built a coverage around the heating tubes in the stairwell a couple of weeks ago, since then i really struggle with taking outfit shots there ... every shoot i get so frustrated about the the light, the contrast, the everything  ... then my frustrated face in the pictures ...  i'm really about loosing fun to take outfit pictures ... gaaaaah!

i actually never dare to wear white dresses, because they normally don't stay white ... but this dress already had a light yellow-ish spot on the bust when i got it. luckily the flaw it's close to one of the flower buquet prints, so you really have to know it's there to recognize it. - just knowing that there is a stain makes it easier on me to wear this dress.

Getrödelt, Gefunden, Gefreut ... Petticoat Slip

welcome to getrödelt, gefunden, gefreut in july ... just last week i got my hands on my favourite find of june ... actually i spotted this pretty 50s petticoat slip already some months ago at my favourite vintage shop - but it wasn't for sale then, just for rent ... so i was totally excited when the lovely ladies from veist vintage told me, that the owner of the slip finally was ready to say goodbye to this little rosé treasure. luckily i was able to pay it from the money i made with my successful sales i did to the shop ...

i was looking for a pettislip (slippicoat ...?) since i found this picture in 2008. isn't it fun that in the end i found excactly the same slip just in another colour?! 

probably you will never see this slip worn, because i will wear it under a dress ...
